Exploring Your Purpose
Defining Purpose is my first horse out of Defining Hope to get to the track. Originally, I was going to sell her in January 2021 as a short yearling at auction, but I’m so glad fate was on my side as she didn’t meet reserve. I took this as sign that there was a reason or a purpose, so hence her name! Defining Purpose was foaled, raised, broke and started at Margaux Farm.
Upon recommendation, I reached out to Kenny McPeek to see if he would be willing to train Defining Purpose. He accepted and the journey began with her breaking her maiden at second asking at a mile and a sixteenth at Churchill. She then ran 5th in the G2 Golden Rod and won the Year’s End Stakes at Oaklawn at 1 mile. Defining Purpose continued on the Kentucky Oaks trail where she ran in the Martha Washington and G3 Honeybee. Her biggest performance was her win in the G1 Ashland which advanced her with enough points to compete in the Kentucky Oaks.
Although she did not win the Kentucky Oaks, she won us the experience of a lifetime.
Defining Purpose is On The Point Stable’s first Graded Stakes Winner. And that would not be possible without the incredible team behind her.
2023 was the year for Defining Purpose. She truly lived up to her name and elevated the family.
