In a couple of days, On the Point will be 90 days in foal to To Honor & Serve. Her pregnancy is progressing nicely. I visited her on May 28th and found her in the paddock true to form with her head stuck deep in a round bale of hay! She never misses an opportunity to eat and especially when she is eating for two. Her healthy appetite is one thing she passes on to her foals compliments of Point Given who is known for his voracious appetite. Below is a picture of Dream ( On the Point) caught in the act!
On The Point was pronounced in foal on St. Patty’s day, so it is fair to say that she did indeed have the luck of the Irish! She was bred to Gainesway’s To Honor & Serve on March 2, 2017 ,which also happened to be the 3 yr anniversary of my yearling colt’s death. I believe this date will prove auspicious on many levels.
I can’t say enough about To Honor & Serve. He is a bred for the Classic races and is big and strong with plenty of bone to support his muscle mass. I am predicting good things for this young stallion and can’t wait to see the wonderful foal that On The Point has next Spring. She herself, puts alot of bone and substance in her foals along with a great shoulder. These two horses are a match physically as well as an A+ cross! I can’t express how excited I am to have On The Point booked to stallion To Honor & Serve for 2017. He is an awesome, very regal looking horse and his pedigree and his physical match On The Point perfectly. His presence and confident air caught my eye much like Strong Hope wowed me years ago. The fact To Honor & Serve ran in the fall of his 2 yr old year even sweetens the pie further. Looking forward to a big, strong good looking foal! See picture below of To Honor and Serve at Gainesway.
