Defining Purpose wins the Year’s End Stakes at Oaklawn

Defining Purpose broke from post one and took the rail going into the 1st turn, but was bumped outside by jockey David Cabrera so as to get her in clean air. You could tell that Defining Purpose wanted to charge away on the backstretch, but she heeded David’s cues and just before the turn she started mounting her run. She drew away by 5 lengths to win and end the year with a bang! It sounds like David had plenty of gas in the tank as they rounded the turn for home!
