I learned today that Hope was weened this past week at 4 months. I believe On The Point probably needed the break early this year. Her foals are so big and now entering her 2nd trimester, she probably didn’t want to be bothered with nursing anymore. She happily spends her days grazing in the field with the other mares in foal. The weening appeared to be uneventful for both. Hope looked very content when we visited her today and was happily munching on hay in her stall. I think she enjoys having her own private room!
